Projects
Below are the projects I worked on during my time at the University of Florida while pursuing my Master of Arts in Mass Communication degree and Social Media Graduate Certificate. These projects represent all the research I've done and how I applied my learnings into campaigns that also reflect my passion for entertainment—the industry I hope to work in some day. My first major PR project as a grad student, I chose to create a campaign for The Walt Disney Company. The purpose of the campaign was to further promote diversity by celebrating underrepresented cultures from around the world. I created blog posts, social media samples, an employee email, and a press release as the materials for the initiative.
I created the 1-Up Players campaign for Nintendo of America to celebrate fans and the art they create surrounding Nintendo games. This campaign was designed around improving the relationship between Nintendo of America and their consumers. I identified three target audiences for the campaign, created key messaging for them, wrote a blog, designed social media samples, and created a sample press release for the initiative.
I created a content calendar for 7 days of Facebook content and 7 days of Instagram content for Photography by Hanah, LLC. It is a vintage photography company that books photoshoots featuring various themed sessions, including: Disco, Old Hollywood, and Halloween.
I created a social media style guide for GungHo Online Entertainment America, Inc. that serves as a guide for using social media to create content for its target audiences. It lays out who the target audience is, how often the brand should post to its social media accounts, the voice and tone of the content, and examples of social media post samples.
#MickeyMeals was inspired by Disney's #ShareYourEars and Disney UK's #HealthilyEverAfter campaigns. In celebration of Disney's 100th anniversary, my idea was to inspire social media users to let their imaginations run wild by creating Disney-inspired shapes out of their food and share it online. With every share using the hashtag, Disney would donate money to Feeding America to help combat food insecurity. I created the hypothetical campaign, outlined goals and audiences, crafted sample social media posts, and more. Part of this project was to create a presentation to complement the paper.
#NewToNintendo was my campaign for my PR Capstone course at UF. It was designed to help Nintendo of America highlight all the new experiences that came in 2023. It's a social media-focused campaign that had NOA build a stronger relationship with fans of the brand. I created the hypothetical campaign, outlined goals and audiences, crafted sample social media posts, and more. Part of this project was to put together a presentation of the campaign, so I recorded myself breaking down the entirety of this project.
