Hello and welcome! My name is Benjamin and I created this site to share my journey of progress.

 

Like so many others, 2020 was a very difficult year for me. I really struggled to get my feet off the ground professionally, but I took the time to improve myself. I began eating better, moving around a lot more, and in 2021, I made the decision to go back to school in order to jumpstart a career in Public Relations.

In 2022, I began pursuing a Master of Arts in Mass Communication with a specialization in PR at the University of Florida.

​

Since going back to school, I have learned a lot about PR and how it has evolved over time, and more recently with the rise of social media. As my interest in seeing how brands strategically utilize social media to achieve their goals continued to rise, I decided to pursue the Social Media Graduate Certificate to complement my degree.

​

In Fall 2022, I began working as a digital marketing intern for Meerkat Media Group—a boutique digital marketing agency—where I gained a lot of experience in writing and formatting blog posts for SEO. I've written for various clients in a way that best connects to their audience. I also got the opportunity to assist with community management and engagement for social media clients, and eventually graduated to taking on client accounts of my own through copywriting, design, and scheduling of social media content.

In May 2023, I graduated with distinction from the University of Florida with a 4.0 GPA and received my MAMC degree and Social Media certificate. I also began a new Social Media Coordinator position with Meerkat.

Having moved around a bit growing up, I am used to being the new kid, but anywhere I go, I make it my purpose to connect with people and create new friendships. When I'm not talking about my big, amazing family that inspires me and encourages me to be my best, I enjoy sharing my love for everything entertainment. A lot of what I like to write about is Disney, video games, tv, and movies. These topics always give me something to chat about with others.

I also like to write about what I'm learning throughout my time as a grad student. It keeps me motivated. Just as I had to be reminded that I was not the only one who struggled to find a job during the pandemic, I realized that I am not alone in wanting to learn about how to get better and make myself stand out.

​

I am dedicated to keeping up on the trends and further development of the fields of marketing, public relations and social media. I enjoy popular culture and entertainment, and thus, my goal is to work in entertainment PR. I just love seeing how different media and content are brought to life even before their release, especially for projects that have so much power, inspiration, and influence on consumers. Entertainment PR and Marketing are all about building the connections people have with movies, shows, games, and characters.

Public Relations is all about building strong relationships between companies and their audiences. No matter where I go, I make it my purpose to connect with people and create new friendships. I believe my experience, skills, and willingness to continue learning and growing make me an effective marketer and well-rounded PR professional.

My hope for this site is to share how I'm turning nothing into something by taking hold of the wheel and lifting my foot off the brake. I am truly learning as I go, and I hope you stay for the ride and get inspired to go from passenger to driver!
